Cyber Wales Ecosystem Overview
Cyber Wales' ecosystem is made up of four core sectors as we believe all of these are required for any real collaboration and progress to be made.
Organisations of all sizes contribute to Wales' cyber ecosystem working to support the National Cyber Security Strategy to make the UK the safest place to do business in cyberspace and the Welsh Government’s stated aim to be a hub for cyber security expertise in the UK.
Wales lead the way in cyber education with initiatives like the National Cyber Security Academy (from University of South Wales!), the Cyber Threats Intelligence Centre at Swansea University and the Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security Analytics at Cardiff University
The Welsh Government, the devolved Government for Wales, has a stated aim to become a hub for cyber security in the UK and a number of Departments run initiatives to encourage cyber security businesses to stimulate growth, both locally and through export.
Cyber crime is being fought at a nation-state level by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), on battlefields by the Joint Cyber Command of the Armed Forces and locally by the Cyber Crime Teams of Regional Organised Crime Units (ROCU) & Police Forces
