The Gulf Information Security Expo & Conference (GISEC) is not just one of the most impactful cybersecurity shows in the Gulf Region, but it is also the largest, overshadowing other events in terms of aspiration, diversity and scope.
In its 7th edition, GISEC welcomed over 7,000 cyber-specific visitors, and was co-located with IoTX and Future Blockchain Summit, and collectively they delivered over 12,000 visitors.
Cyber Wales members visited the United Arab Emirates on an Trade Mission earlier in the year to establish relationships with key organisations, assess the market opportunity and meet the Welsh Government Representatives. Having determined that there was a healthy business opportunity, Cyber Wales returned to attend this event and present a range of Welsh cyber solutions to attendees from all over the GCC Region.
A Cyber Wales stand was organised so that Wolfberry, Acuity Legal and Pervade Software could share the space which was opposite the UK DIT delegation stand on the exhibition floor.
The agenda was directed by a powerful Advisory Board of senior end-users from Dubai Electronic Security Centre, Dubai Police and Smart Dubai and Cyber Wales members were given speaking slots. South Wales Cyber Security Cluster members Damon Rands, Dr Kerry Beynon and John Davies all spoke on the Spotlight Stage
The success of this event has prompted a number of Cyber Wales organisations to set up operations in the United Arab Emirates.
