Cyber Wales members formed a Delegation of cyber security companies who were invited to present to a range of industry representatives from all over Japan at an event held in the British Embassy in Tokyo.
Presentations were given by Dr Kerry Beynon, European data privacy expert, partner at RDP Law, Damon Rands, CEO of Wolfberry Cyber and John Davies, CEO of Pervade Software and they were later joined by Japanese experts for a Discussion Panel.
The Delegation was hosted by the Japan Cluster of Security Professionals and their Founder & CEO, Sam Matsumoto, commented “It is a pleasure to host specialist Welsh cyber companies and we would like to encourage cooperation and collaboration in the fight against the growing global threat of cyber attacks“.
The event was supported by the new Welsh Government Representative for Japan, Robin Walker and his Inward Investment staff including Goro Okada who worked with the British Embassy to help make the event a success.
In addition to the event, the trip involved a series of meetings between Cyber Wales companies and major companies in Japan including Telecoms, Energy and Security Service Providers which provided the opportunity to explore collaboration in more detail.
Some Cyber Wales members were also lucky enough to have been among delegates who were interviewed for Japanese Television when they arrived at Tokyo Airport.
